Get the name of the person you reported the accident to
Take photographs of the accident location
In photographs of defects try to get some sense of scale in them
Seek appropriate medical treatment
Take photographs of your injuries and any items damaged in the accident
Get the details of witnesses to include names and addresses
Keep a record of your losses and expenses
