If you have been injured in an accident that has taken place at work due to the negligence of your employer (or in some circumstances that of a colleague) then we can help you to recover compensation for those injuries.

There are a large number of Regulations in place designed for your protection whilst at work.  Your employer has a responsibility to ensure your safety whilst you are at work by adhering to these regulations and to ensure the risk of an accident occurring is prevented where possible or minimised where it is impossible to completely remove the risk.  The duty also extends to contractors and visitors to the premises.  For example, your employer is required to ensure that any equipment you use in your line of work is suitable for the purpose for which it is being used, they are also responsible for ensuring that the equipment is regularly serviced and maintained.
It is not surprising that, given the wide range of occupations, accidents at work can take many forms and can include injuries as a result of:

  • Falls from heights
  • Manual handling
  • Defective work equipment
  • Poor working practices
  • Lack of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Slips and trips

The above are just a few examples of the type of work place accident where you can make a claim for compensation in respect of the injuries sustained in that accident.

Useful Tips

  1. Report your accident to your employer as soon as possible
  2. Seek appropriate medical treatment as soon as possible
  3. Ensure your accident has been recorded in the accident book and request a copy
  4. If there are errors in the accident book entry advise your employer of this in writing
  5. Make a note of the names of any witnesses to your accident
  6. Take photographs of the accident location if possible (including any machinery involved)
  7. If it is impossible to take photographs draw a sketch plan of the accident location
  8. Make a note of exactly what happened whilst the incident is fresh in your mind
  9. Keep a record of losses and expenses
